Configure a proxy for all agents to talk to the Smart Protection Network
In order to set up a proxy configuration for all agents for communication with smart protection network, we recommend that you create a proxy server specifically for the smart protection network. Then you can set up base policies so that anti-malware and web reputation will use the new proxy server.
Create a proxy server for smart protection network communication
- In the Deep Security Manager, click Administration > System Settings > Proxies.
- Click New > New Proxy Server.
- Name the new proxy appropriately, for example, "Smart Protection Proxy".
- Provide the rest of the settings based on your system requirements.
- Click OK.
Set up a base policy for anti-malware
- In the Deep Security Manager, click Policies.
- Select Base Policy, click Details > Anti-Malware > Smart Protection.
- Under Smart Protection Server for File Reputation Service, clear the Default check box.
- Select When accessing Global Smart Protection Service, use proxy.
- Select the proxy you created above, "Smart Protection Proxy".
- Click Save.
Set up a base policy for web reputation
- In the Deep Security Manager, click Policies.
- Select Base Policy, click Details > Web Reputation > Smart Protection.
- Under Smart Protection Server for Web Reputation Service, clear the Default.
- Select When accessing Global Smart Protection Service, use proxy
- Select the proxy you created above, "Smart Protection Proxy".
- Click Save.
