Install the Guest Introspection service on VMware ESXi

Applies to on-premise Deep Security software installations only

To protect your VMs with Deep Security Virtual Appliance for file-based protection such as anti-malware, you must install the Guest Introspection service on your ESXi servers. If you don't know which version of VMware Tools you have, use the sc query vsepflt command.

If you do not install Guest Introspection, the anti-malware and intrusion prevention features will not work.

Before you begin, make sure you've followed the NSX set-up steps to deploy the appliance with NSX.
